UX Designer 

You are a UX designer for a key account helping to plan, facilitate and execute on all their digital team’s initiatives within the client’s digital ecosystem. From UpTop, you will be one of two UX designers and a project manager, but you’ll be interfacing with the client and all of their other digital partners remotely on a daily basis.

The design team will need to communicate with stakeholders directly to set priorities, receive design feedback, and approvals as well as work closely with development and QA as you’ll be operating on two-week sprint cycles. 


  • You are a consultant first and a designer second. You have the client’s best interests in mind, but you balance these with the goals and needs of the agency.
  • Can help bring clarity in the presence of ambiguity by framing in the problem and moving the project forward rather than being blocked
  • Ability to employ strategic and tactical design in a project. Eg. Strategic design might be asking the critical questions as it relates to the big pictures that will help shape the overall design strategy. Tactical design might be the means in which you execute various activities that lead to the end solution.
  • Effective at defining business goals and objectives and mapping those back to your designs
  • Able to pivot quickly and effectively, including refining strategy to reflect changing business or project needs
  • Experienced at performing key design activities across each phase of the design process including research, strategy and design. Includes: stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, journey mapping, concept ideation, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, design specifications
  • Self-PM when needed ensuring that communication needs are met appropriately throughout
  • Can effectively present work to clients in-person, via screen share, and via email with the ability to justify and/or defend your work but ultimately guide them to a positive outcome
  • Understanding of interaction design and proficiency of mainstream design systems and design kits such as Material, Fluent, Bootstrap, iOS and Android
  • Understanding of user experience and ecommerce best practices that lead to conversion rate optimization
  • Understanding of underlying technical issues as applied to design and how to work within their constraints
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure design is successfully implemented
  • Ability to work under the direction of a lead designer and be receptive to feedback


  • 2+ years in the field of Product Design, UX Design, or similar field
  • BA/BS in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) or related field or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

  • Front-end knowledge of HTML 5, CSS and other web technologies

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • InVision App and/or other prototyping tools
