User expectations are changing and adoption of VUI will only increase. As adoption increases, voice experiences will become more of a gatekeeper to accessing certain customer segments. Without VUI, you may not be able to reach some of the customers you want to reach as those customers will come to expect the convenience and delight of VUI and go elsewhere if it is not offered.
Content must be optimized for voice interaction. It is not simply a matter of pulling existing digital content and dropping it into VUI. There is a specific structure and set of skills required to make VUI user friendly.
Accurately define your brand
As a way to stand out from the crowd, VUI allows a business to more accurately project a personality that can help define it and draw users. According to Gartner, “By 2021, early adopter brands that redesign their websites to support visual and voice search will increase their digital commerce revenue by 30%.”
The future may well find us spending less time behind screens and more time talking with our technology. There’s every reason to look for ways to adopt VUI into your brand while at the same time using services with the knowledge to do so effectively. Bad VUI is worse than no VUI.
