Identifying Gaps through Analytics  

In 2012, Colliers International launched a newly redesigned global website, built on Sitecore ASP.NET CMS. Colliers was interested in studying the usability and user experience of the site, and to create a strategy and framework for which Colliers could measure, understand, and improve website usability. Through close collaboration, we helped Colliers identify the most important statistics to target and identify in order to improve overall site usability and experience.

The following goals were established as the focal points for our collaboration together:
  • Establish baseline measurements of performance and visitor sentiment of website usability
  • Identify how the website is performing overall based on Colliers’ goals for the redesign of the website
  • Gain in-depth understanding of user interactions with the website
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in usability

Applying Insight to Find Solutions  

UpTop performed a thorough website assessment that provided a detailed analysis of their current website design and user experience via a wide array of user behavior monitoring and web analytics tools, as well as qualitative analysis of the design by our UX design team.

Project objectives:
  • Create a usability testing strategy to understand areas of friction and success, and identify opportunities for improved user experience
  • Augment the current analytics capabilities on with tools that track user behavior and provide more qualitative insight into usage
  • Provide actionable insights for Colliers International in order to help guide any potential design or development changes online
  • Hypothesize, test and implement any issues that become apparent through our analysis

The Results: Provide Recommendations, Take Action  

UpTop provided Colliers with a full Website Assessment Report, which included a prioritized list of actionable UX recommendations. Following the initial assessment, Colliers engaged us to design, test, and implement design changes based on the UX recommendations over a period of six months.
